At 201 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Boomer to 4 miles east of Morganton to 4 miles east of Marion to 15 miles southwest of Spruce Pine. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Lenoir, Morganton, Newton, Marion, Taylorsville, St.
Stephens, Conover, Longview, and Sawmills.
