Canceled 7/15/25 10:45 PM Flood Advisory issued July 15 at 7:45PM EDT until July 15 at 10:45PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT... Nuisance flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... East central Iredell County, North Carolina. * WHEN... Until 1045 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. A small culvert washout or two is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 735 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate heavy rain in ongoing between Statesville and Turnersburg due to multiple slow-moving thunderstorms. A rain gauge in the Baymont Meadows community off of Old Mocksville Rd has reported nearly 3 inches of rain over the past 90 minutes, with adjacent locations near Chestnut Grove Rd reporting 2.5 inches over the same timeframe. This heaviest rainfall is enough to produce excessive runoff into area streams, primarily Beaver Creek, Fifth Creek and small drainages/streams that feed these creeks, as well as other nearby tributaries that feed the S Yadkin River. Significant rises on these streams is beginning and will likely continue over the next 30-90 minutes. Bankfull conditions are likely, with areas of nuisance flooding developing. Areas of greatest concern include: 1) Along Beaver Creek near Old Mocksville Rd and Chestnut Grove Rd 2) Fifth Creek near Turnersburg Hwy (US 21), Old Mocksville Rd, and Beechwood Farm Rd 3) Jack Creek near Blackwelder Rd. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... northern Statesville communities including Baymont Meadows and Meadowview, and Cool Springs. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood ![]() |
