A portion of south central Virginia, including the following county, Halifax. * WHEN... Until 1230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 919 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dan River, Carlton Creek, Birch Creek, Ballous Creek, Big Toby Creek, Barker Creek, Butrum Creek and Banister River. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... South Boston... Halifax... Turbeville... Scottsburg... Cluster Springs...
