Canceled 5/12/25 10:29 PM Flood Advisory issued May 12 at 8:06PM EDT until May 12 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following county, Watauga. * WHEN... Until 1030 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 805 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. There is a flood warning along the Watauga River and the streams that feed into it. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Laurel Fork, Hoskin Fork, Norris Fork, Grassy Creek, Laurel Branch, Meat Camp Creek, Left Prong Stony Fork, George Gap Branch, Brushy Fork, Beaverdam Creek, Little Beaverdam Creek, Elk Creek, Kirby Branch and Cove Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Boone... Todd...
