Flood Warning issued January 24 at 7:46PM EST until January 25 at 1:30AM EST by NWS Charleston WV
At 739 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated an area of very heavy rainfall had moved across the warned area.
Automated river gauges were showing streams rising quickly, including the Duck Creek and Shade River. Duck creek was about to exceed bankfull at Macksburg. The Ohio department of transportation reported ongoing road closures in Athens County west of Athens.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Parkersburg, Athens, Marietta, Belpre, Nelsonville, Glouster, Beverly, Albany, Coolville, Chesterhill, Forked Run State Park, Vienna, Williamstown, Washington, Mineralwells, Tuppers Plains, Lubeck, Boaz, Chester and Chauncey.
The heaviest of the rain had moved out of the area.
