At 543 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles southwest of Hickory, or 5 miles southwest of Mountain View.
This storm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Newton, Conover, Longview, Maiden, Hildebran, Mountain View, St. Stephens, Icard, and Hickory Regional Airport.
