Special Weather Statement issued March 25 at 9:12AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA
The combination of winds gusting to 20 to 30 mph and minimum relative humidities falling into the 20 to 25 percent range, will result in an increased fire danger for portions of Southeast West Virginia. 10-hour fuels were trending drier thanks to plenty of sunshine and sustained winds.
Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source...including machinery...cigarettes...and matches.
Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
