Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe and Watauga and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe.

* WHEN...
Until 4 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Thunderstorms will continue to move into far western Virginia and the northwest mountains of North Carolina through about 4AM before ending. The risk for excessive rainfall and potential for flooding will continue until the thunderstorms dissipate.
