* WHAT...
Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 4 inches with isolated locations seeing 6 to 8 inches along the Tennessee border. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph, and up to 65 mph on higher ridgetops.

* WHERE...
Madison, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties. All elevations in these counties are now included in the Winter Weather Advisory.

* WHEN...
From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...
The snow may make some roads impassable and may produce power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Very strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
The frequent and strong wind gusts will result in some blowing and drifting of snow.
