Flash Flood Warning issued September 27 at 12:49AM EDT until September 27 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA
At 1249 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has exited the warned area, leaving only light to occasionally moderate rain.
However, between 3 and 3.5 inches of rain fell earlier this evening over a short period of time near Wilkesboro. Runoff from this rain continues to collect in local creeks and stream, with some of them having been reported to be out of their banks.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
