In Maryland, Western Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

Until 10 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...
Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Bursts of snow and squalls are expected through late evening. Steady snow will continue through tonight before gradually tapering off Thursday morning.
