...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL AND ISOLATED WIND GUSTS WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN MOORE... SOUTHEASTERN ALAMANCE...SOUTHERN PERSON...CENTRAL ORANGE...LEE... EASTERN CHATHAM AND DURHAM COUNTIES UNTIL 615 PM EDT...
At 513 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 11 miles west of Carrboro through Goldston to near Carthage. Movement was northeast at 20 mph.
Nickel size hail, heavy downpours, and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with these storms. Use caution if traveling in these areas, as heavy rain will work to reduce visibility and may result in localized flooding.
