...A light wintry mix possible this morning...
As of 915 AM...Doppler radar indicated a band of light precipitation extending from Avery County in North Carolina northwestward into the Tri-Cities area of northeast Tennessee, moving eastward. Expect intermittent periods of light sleet to fall through the late morning hours across the northern mountains of northwest North Carolina into Grayson and Smyth Counties in Virginia. While accumulations of sleet should be less than a quarter-inch, any accumulation could make for difficult travel at times.
Motorists should be advised to drive more slowly if sleet is encountered.
