Flood Watch issued July 23 at 4:46PM EDT until July 24 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE... A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Greene, Mainland Dare, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Northern Outer Banks, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington. * WHEN... Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS... Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A stalled front over eastern North Carolina will linger through Friday morning. Rounds of heavy rainfall with some embedded thunderstorms could bring additional rain totals of 2 to 4 inches.
