At 632 PM EST, a series of snow squalls were located 7 miles northeast of Winfield, moving east at 20 mph.
Locations impacted include...
Nitro, Ripley, Spencer, Winfield, Harrisville, Glenville, Elizabeth, Grantsville, Hurricane, Ravenswood, Sissonville, Eleanor, Buffalo, Clendenin, Pennsboro, Poca, Sandyville, Arnoldsburg, Kenna, and Cedar Creek State Park.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 79 between mile markers 11 and 32.
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 110 and 163.
Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 33 and 44.
Route 50 in West Virginia between mile markers 27 and 28, and between mile markers 30 and 44.
Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in these squalls.
Use extra caution if you must travel into or through these snow squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the squall passes your location.
Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
