* WHAT...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Avery and Caldwell.

* WHEN...
Until 915 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected along with rapid rises on smaller streams. This includes Wilson Creek from the headwaters in Avery County downstream to the Edgemont community, as well as Anthony Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 606 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
While heavier rainfall was beginning to taper off across the headwaters of Wilson Creek, redevelopment of heavy rainfall is possible, and an upgrade to a Flash Flood Warning is possible. People camping along Wilson Creek near the Avery and Caldwell County line should be prepared to take immediate action if a Warning is issued.
