Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches with localized amounts around 6 inches possible along the western facing slopes above 3,000 feet. West winds will gust around 55 to 65 mph. * WHERE... In Maryland, Eastern Garrett and Western Garrett Counties. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties. * WHEN... From 1 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS... Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions along with significant reduction in visibility. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility around one-quarter mile at times, causing near blizzard conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes with snow covered surfaces and localized visibility around one-quarter mile in snow and blowing snow. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage as well. Wind chills will drop to between 0 and 10 degrees below zero tonight into Tuesday morning for most areas. ![]() |
