South or southeasterly winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph, with gusts between 35 and 45 mph expected during the afternoon and evening Tuesday. * WHERE... All of central North Carolina. The strongest wind gusts are expected over the southern Piedmont, Sandhills, and southern Coastal Plain. * WHEN... Winds will gradually increase through the midday hours and peak from mid afternoon through the evening, generally between 2 PM and 10 PM Tuesday. * IMPACTS... Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.  |
