For the Winter Weather Advisory, total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches or more are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE... Western Mineral County. * WHEN... For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM EST Tuesday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS... For the Winter Weather Advisory, plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions along with significant reduction in visibility. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility around one-quarter mile at times, causing near blizzard conditions. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage as well. Wind chills will drop to between 0 and 10 degrees below zero tonight into Tuesday morning for most areas. The Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes will be impacted. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow could bring significant impacts the evening of New Year's Eve into New Year's Day. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. ![]() |
