At 453 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles southeast of Morganton, or 5 miles south of Valdese, moving southeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Valdese, South Mountains State Park, Cooksville, Propst, and Pleasant Grove.
